Pope, Wolff added to U.S. squad Kansas City forward Josh Wolff and Salt Lake defender Eddie Pope were added Monday to the United States sqaud for Saturday's exhibition soccer game against England at Soldier Field.
Pope replaces Oguchi Onyewu, who will remain with Standard Liege for a playoff game. Last week, Kansas City midfielder Kerry Zavagnin replaced Colorado's Pablo Mastroeni, who pulled his right quadriceps. Also Monday, the English Football Association confirmed that midfielder David Beckham will miss the game. Even though Beckham is suspended for Real Madrid's final game of the season this weekend, the club wants him to train with it this week. Beckham and Michael Owen are to join the English national team for its May 31 exhibition game against Colombia at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
